The World’s 50 Best Bars have been named

The 15th edition of The World’s 50 Best Bars was revealed at a live awards ceremony in Singapore. And it’s a showy list made for the thirsty!

It features bars from 28 different cities around the world, including 11 new entries and two Australian hotspots that should be added to your next drinks to-do list. 

The World’s 50 Best Bars celebrates the finest establishments that craft exceptional cocktails and offer unique experiences for guests. This annual ranking showcases bars from all corners of the world, each recognised for their innovation, craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication to the art of mixology.

This beauty adds South American flair to the list. A rising star amidst Buenos Aires’ blossoming bar scene, CoChinChina has become a staple of cocktail lovers since its 2021 opening. Cocktails lean on ingredients fusing local flavours and international mixology techniques helmed by Inés de los Santos. Now a sought-after destination, CoChinChina is for those seeking an authentic taste of Argentina.

No.23 Caretaker’s Cottage 

The team at 50 Best says Caretaker’s Cottage is a masterclass in subtle elegance and cocktail creation. All thanks to the bartending prowess of its three owners and a new entry in the 2023 list. One of two Australian entries, the bar’s rustic setting is reminiscent of a charming cottage. It’s a warm, welcoming space that pairs perfectly with its innovative libations.

No.19 Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar 

The latest brainchild of Ronnaporn ‘Neung’ Kanivichaporn and Chennarong ‘Jan’ Bhumichitr, Mahaniyom exemplifies the rising influence of the Southeast Asian cocktail scene. This Thai gem has the ability to transform local ingredients into unique concoctions, a tantalising blend of Thai traditions and contemporary mixology to create tasty ‘low-waste’ cocktails. Maybe Sammy continues to captivate cocktail enthusiasts with its sophisticated drinks and retro-inspired interiors that add a touch of Californian glamour to Sydney’s bar scene. Since its opening in 2019, it has grown a reputation for impeccable service and creative libations. Making it a favourite bar for locals and tourists. This year’s World’s 50 Best Bars it took the title of The Best Bar in Australasia 2023 for the second year running.
