Experts in small group adventure holidays, World Expeditions has teamed up with one of Australia’s finest landscape photographers, Peter Walton and accomplished Sydney artist and art teacher, Michael Herron to host a new photography tour and art expedition in Australia.
The stunning landscapes of the Kakadu with its tumbling waterfalls, red escarpments, shady pools and tranquil wetland will provide an ideal classroom to learn the “artistry of photography”.
Departing Darwin 27 May 2018, Kakadu Photography with Peter Walton is a six-day active, walking-based itinerary for those interested in photography. It offers the ideal opportunity to learn about composition, lighting, focus and lens choice from a photographer whose iconic images have been widely used for more than 40 years by advertising agencies, the travel industry, in Australian landscape calendars and coffee table books.
For painters, the spectacular outback scenery and intense colours on the NT’s Larapinta Trail and SA’s Flinders Ranges will provide wonderful opportunities to learn about painting natural landscapes during the six-day Art Expedition Larapinta, departing Adelaide 1 July, or the nine-day Art Expedition Flinders Ranges, departing Alice Springs 13 July.
Both itineraries have been crafted to allow artists to spend time in a wide range of stunning locations, including opportunities to undertake optional guided walks.
World Expeditions also offers photography tours overseas, and has recently launched a new trip with Richard I’Anson, taking in the Ladakhi New Year Festivals of Galden Namchot and Losar.
