Virgin Voyages redefines work from home with month-long Mediterranean cruise

Richard Branson is giving WFH a new meaning as his award-winning travel brand, Virgin Voyages, introduces Scarlet Summer Season Pass.

Voted the best new cruise ship by Cruise Critic in her inaugural year and having earned top honours in Condé Nast Traveller’s 2024 Gold List, Scarlet Lady is giving you an excuse to ditch the office for the ultimate summer soiree at sea. Now you can now WFH, “Work From Helm”, with a month aboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady as she sails through the Mediterranean Sea.

Between June and September, embark on a four-week journey exploring stunning coastal European towns like Cannes, Civitavecchia (by Rome), Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and Ajaccio (in Corsica). Along with visiting nine spectacular destinations across Spain, Italy, and France, the new four-week season pass will give access to a concierge to help plan the most epic month-long adventure.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to work from anywhere,” said Richard Branson. “When I started Virgin, I was actually working out of a houseboat. I’ve never thought of work and play as two different things, so we came up with the idea of having [guests] travel the world while working aboard our beautiful ships. Though this sounds like a lot more fun than my houseboat!”

The fastest WiFi at sea

Scarlet Summer Season Pass offers guests an opportunity to work, travel and eat through Europe while enjoying the fastest WiFi at sea. The ship is newly integrated with SES Cruise mPOWERED + Starlink PRO, offering connectivity of up to 1.5 Gbps per ship. WiFi is complimentary, as are gratuities, group fitness classes like zen-inducing yoga and high-energy HIIT or spin classes, soft drinks, coffee and tea, and delicious Michelin-inspired food from more than 20 eateries.

“No longer does working from home mean being tied to a desk or home office and eating leftovers for lunch,” said Nirmal Saverimuttu, Virgin Voyages CEO. “Virgin Voyages can now offer the chance to see the world while working from a daybed at The Dock and sampling Mediterranean mezzes, then hopping off the ship between calls to make the most of our incredible ports of call.”
