Active Europe travel specialist, UTracks, has launched a three-day Northern Lights winter walking experience in Iceland.
The guided walks explore Iceland’s Golden Circle and will run from 8 November 2018 to 28 March 2019, when the days are short, allowing guests to view the extraordinary coloured lights in the northern night sky.
Departing from the Iceland’s capital city Reykjavík, the tour includes two to four hours walking each day amongst the country’s most incredible landscapes.
The three-day adventure allows guests to view geysers, gorgeous waterfalls, the fault lines of Thingvellir National Park, and Glacier Lagoon with icebergs and sunbathing seals.
For the two nights, guests will stay in a comfortable countryside hotel in Reykjavík, which is one of the best places to view the Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis.
The final day will include walks on the black southern beaches and hikes on the stunning Sólheimajökull glacier.
This getaway is ideal for those on a short layover flying to or from Europe, or those who don’t have much time but wish to experience an active tour full of natural beauty and adventure.
The Iceland Northern Lights tour package includes accommodation, an experienced walking guide, minibus transfers, glacial walk and ice cave, and pickups from your hotel in Reykjavík.
