Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has established a new partnership with Golden Eagle Luxury Trains and is launching two new itineraries that combine river cruising with land and train travel.
The new itineraries, launching in 2021, will see guests journey through Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The all-new luxury train journeys will be available to guests as an extension on select Venice & The Gems of Northern Italy trips. Guests will spend a portion of their trip sailing aboard the S.S. La Venezia and a portion aboard the luxurious Golden Eagle Danube Express train to get the ultimate travel experience.
Cruise & rail 2021 itineraries
The first new itinerary is the 14-day Cruise & Rail: Milan, Venice & the Swiss Alps. The trip will start on land with a tour of Milan before guests set off on a round-trip cruise in Venice and finish with a train journey to Zurich. The second is the 12-day Cruise & Rail: Venice & the Swiss Alps which starts with a train trip from Zurich and ends with a round-trip cruise in Venice.
Both itineraries provide guests with a new opportunity to travel onboard the luxury train as it runs along the Lake of Zurich. Along the way there will be stops in destinations such as the medieval town of Lienz, the picturesque Lake Bled with a Pletna rowing trip to Bled Island, and Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Excursions will include trips to Gutenberg Castle in Balzers, Liechtenstein and the caves of Postojna where guests can enjoy a private concert.
