United Airlines will soar through the clouds this Northern Hemisphere summer with the introduction of its new Boeing 737 MAX9 services on 7 June.
The aircraft will fly from Houston to five US cities including Anchorage, Orlando, San Diego, Austin and Fort Lauderdale, an easy connection for Australians thanks to the new Sydney to Houston services that began operating in January, 2018. From 29 June, 2018, the US carrier will also introduce the MAX 9 on the Los Angeles to Honolulu service, with more destinations added from Houston, including Tampa and Sacramento.
The MAX9 has 179 seats including 20 United First seats in a 2-2 configuration, 48 in Economy Plus and 111 economy seats – both classes in a 3-3 configuration. Passengers will also have access to in-seat power outlets and the opportunity to purchase satellite WiFi and United’s Private Screening personal device entertainment will be available throughout the aircraft, enabling passengers to enjoy many hours of movies and television programs on their electronic devices.
Passengers in First will enjoy extra-spacious seating with contoured, two-tone leather; a six-way adjustable headrest for total relaxation and a padded articulating seat cushion. The seat also comes equipped with storage spaces for personal items, including an in-arm tablet and laptop slot, a personal water bottle console and double seatback pockets. There is a new tray table design with a flip-up mobile device holder that fits more than 200 phone and tablet models, while a granite-topped extendable cocktail table in the centre console will add a touch of elegance.
