Located on the rooftop of the recently open La Siesta Central Hotel in Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter, Twilight Sky Bar is high up enough to delight in stunning views of Hoan Kiem Lake in its entirety.
With completely unobstructed views of the central body of water regarded by many as the defining feature of Hanoi, this elevated drinking spot offers a 270-degree outlook over the city streets and rooftops of Hanoi’s centuries-old hub of commerce and nearby highlights such as the French Quarter, just south of the central lake.
Not only notable for its views, Twilight Sky Bar’s overall design is stylish and atmospheric, chic and intimate – glass, metal and wood complement a monochromatic colour palette of black, granite grey and hints of cream. Background chill-out music creates a trendy understated vibe, with an overall effect of charming elegance.
With an extensive range of international wines, signature cocktails, beers and spirits as well as an exciting menu of non-alcoholic beverages, Twilight Sky Bar is the hotel’s pièce de résistance.
La Siesta Central, a 27-room boutique hotel, is owned and operated by leading Vietnamese boutique hotel brand Elegance Hospitality Group. A total of 19 rooms offer views of the lake, highly uncommon in Hanoi where high real estate prices and stiff competition in the hotel sector put a hefty premium on such a prime spot.
“Every visitor who comes to Hanoi visits Hoan Kiem lake of course, but it’s a rarity for them to actually see it from their hotel room,” La Siesta Central general manager Chu Van Binh says.
Things are equally inspiring within the hotel. Dark wood panelling and use of intricately patterned tiling characterise stately interiors, while numerous black and white artworks in public areas and rooms enhance the classic feel of the property.
The highest category rooms – the Junior Suite Lake View and the Premium La Siesta Suite Balcony – have the most impressive views over the lake, and all rooms come complete with thoughtful amenities including a walk-in rainforest shower and luxury toiletries from the in-house La Siesta Spa brand.
A key feature of the property is its La Siesta Spa. Much care and attention has gone into devising an extensive menu of treatments and massages – many based on traditional Vietnamese healing methods.
