Trafalgar, part of the Travel Corporation’s family of brands, has introduced some new itineraries through its Trafalgar Cares initiatives.
The 13-day ‘Leisurely Rajasthan with Mumbai’ itinerary includes learning about the work done by the Salaam Baalak Trust, a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that aims to provide a sensitive and caring environment for street and working children in Delhi.
Learn about the daily lives of these street children, some of whom live in the New Delhi railway station area. One of these children will be your guide as they take you through their shelters and tell their life-stories.
This project really makes a difference, as evident by the success of Viki Roy, who is a working photographer and took the photo to the right. Viki was a Salaam Balaak boy himself.
In Sri Lanka, learn about the work being done at the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home which cares for wounded adult elephants and orphaned baby elephants until they are ready to be returned to the wild, and also find out about the itineraries in Thailand, Costa Rica and Peru.
