Christina Sumner C OAM, curator and principal curator at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney for 28 years, is leading a fascinating ‘Threads of Eastern India: A Road Less Travelled’ tour in February 2016. The tour begins in Chennai on the coast of Tamil Nadu and then goes north to Bhubaneshwar and Puri in Odisha, before travelling to the Coromandel Coast of Andhra Pradesh and onto cosmopolitan Hyderabad. The tour, which will run from 6-19 February 2016, will be an unforgettable and enriching journey, with guests able to meet local artisans and learn about their beautiful textile traditions, experience tribal arts, ancient dance and exquisite temples, and enjoy it all in the company of Christina Sumner OAM.
