In a partnership with thoroughbred horse sales company William Inglis & Son Ltd, AccorHotels has opened The William Inglis Hotel, MGallery by Sofitel in Sydney’s Warwick Farm.
Located right next to Warwick Farm racecourse, the five-star boutique property is part of the new Riverside Stables, a $140 million precinct which has taken nine years to develop. It is now also the new home base for the Inglis’ Sydney business, which has relocated after 100 years in Randwick.
The new luxury property was designed and developed to specifically cater to the racing industry and its clients, offering a world class sales and events facility in the area, but is expected to also attract both corporate and leisure travellers, particularly from interstate.
Paying homage to Inglis’ racing history, each of the 144 beautifully appointed rooms enjoy a unique horse racing theme through original artworks, and are named after a champion racehorse, with the Presidential Suite on Level 8 named the Black Caviar Suite.
Facilities include all day dining at paddock-to-plate restaurant Newmarket Room, with an outdoor dining area, Newmarket Gardens. Heroic Café in the ground floor lobby offers an all-day menu of fresh and wholesome food, while right above on the mezzanine, you’ll find 1876 Lounge, a sophisticated whiskey and wine bar named after the year the Inglis business was founded. The jewel in the crown however, has got to be The Chiltern Pool Deck & Bar – the rooftop pool bar on top of the hotel, featuring a heated 20-metre pool, and cabanas and sun loungers, affording panoramic views across 300 acres of greenery including the race course.
Additional leisure facilities include a fully-equipped 24-hour gym, and a luxury day spa offering a variety of massages and treatments.
Throughput the property, interiors are contemporary yet warm and welcoming, with significant elements of horseracing and Inglis’ history incorporated, such as photos and signage of the original Newmarket site, and an incredible collection of books, archives and artefacts, beautifully displayed on a two-storey bookcase.
World-class conference and business facilities are also available, including the sales arena – a versatile space that can cater for up to 1,0000 guests with a range of seating options, and there is also access to The Gallery, which has nine VIP suites. The ‘Big Barn’ has been constructed to host major horse sales, and will also double as a unique venue for special events.
The William Inglis Hotel, MGallery by Sofitel is situated on Governor Macquarie Drive, just 25 minutes from Sydney International Airport, 30 kilometres from Sydney CBD.
