Just in time for the Tassie border reopening on 15 December, Tasmanian Expeditions have launched three new travel adventures.
The new adventures are the Maria Island and Cradle Mountain Experience, the Flinders Island Walking Adventure and the Lake St Clair Walk in Luxury.
By mid-December double-vaccinated Australians can rediscover the Tasmanian terrain with adventure travel specialists Tasmanian Expeditions.
Expect scenic walks, summer rafting and wonder in the wilderness.

“We’ve seen strong bookings across our entire range with many guided, self-guided and family trips quickly filling, following the announcement that border restrictions would lift on December 15,” General Manager Michael Buggy said.
“It means we can employ guides and support all the communities we visit across our itineraries.”
The Maria Island and Cradle Mountain Experience
Walkers will start at the rugged Dolerite peaks of Maria Island and continue to the fascinating caves of the Mole Creek Karst National Park. Carry on to the Cradle Mountain National Park’s magnificent high country.
Departing Launceston, the Maria Island and Cradle Mountain Experience costs $2,895 pp (twin-share). It includes all meals, 2 nights cabin accommodation, 2 nights camping on Maria Island and 1 night in hotel-style accommodation.

Flinders Island Walking Adventure
Explore Flinders Island’s spectacular peaks, rolling green pastures and sparkling coastal vistas on this six-day, pack-free professionally-guided walking adventure.
After days spent walking to highlights including Mt Strzelecki, Walkers Lookout, and North East River you will return to an exclusive safari-style campsite.
The tour starts at $2,795 pp (twin-share). It includes return scenic flights from Bridport, all meals, camping accommodation, private transport and professional wilderness guides.
For those looking for a touch of luxury, you can upgrade to an ‘in Comfort’ version of the Flinders Itinerary. You will enjoy the same walking adventures as the original but substitutes camping accommodation with boutique accommodation at the base of Mt Strzelecki and five chef-prepared dinners.
The Flinders Island Walking Adventure in Comfort is $4,095 pp (twin-share) and departs Launceston on 9 January.
Lake St Clair Walk in Luxury
The four-day all-inclusive experience will take you to the Southern end of the magnificent Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. At the end of the day kick your feet up at a luxurious wilderness lodge.
Starting at $3,150 per person (twin-share), you will enjoy gourmet food and local wines at chef-prepared private dinners. Departures are scheduled from Hobart most Fridays in summer.

On top of the three new adventures, Tasmanian Expeditions is adding extra departures to its most popular trips. They include:
- Frenchman’s Cap Trek, a 46km supported journey to the iconic quartzite peak
- Walls of Jerusalem Circuit, a six-day guided tour
- Cycle, Kayak and Walk Tasmania, one of National Geographic Traveller Magazine’s ’50 Tours of a Lifetime’
- The three-day Cradle mountain family adventure
