Walk Proud @ Kinselas is to host free and ticketed performances from critically acclaimed acts, including musician G Flip and Queer Folk-Pop artist Alex The Astronaut.
Darlinghurst venue, Kinselas, is about to grab a colourful facelift for this year’s WorldPride in Sydney. The iconic LGBTQIA+ venue, in the heart of Darlinghurst’s entertainment precinct, is have a transformation. An exterior mural designed by fashion Creative Director, Mikey Nolan, of label Double Rainbouu, has been granted a Heritage Exemption from the City of Sydney. With this epic new artwork to be unveiled on 16 February.
Mardi Gras Madness
It’s all part of Walk Proud @ Kinselas, a collaboration with whiskey brand Johnnie Walker, in recognition and to empower progress for every LGBTQIA+ identity. And inspire people to ‘Keep Walking Proudly’ towards a more inclusive future.
Walk Proud @ Kinselas will host over 40 events across all four floors of the venue. Bringing to the stage acts from non-binary musician G Flip, Queer Folk-Pop artist Alex The Astronaut, Australian Pop Band Cub Sport and Gomeroi woman, Trans and First Nations advocate and solicitor DJ Crescendoll.

It is not just the facade of Kinselas that is seeing some new love. The venue interiors will also have extra glitz and glamour in furnishings, lighting and staging for the performances.
Meet at The Chapel
The ground floor public bar, The Chapel, will be a hive of activity with free events, including Kiama Blowhole bingo. The whole space is to be elevated with new lighting, staging, and a catwalk. Plus, an intimate and very exclusive Johnnie Walker Blue Label bar that seats just four people.
Down in The Basement
The Basement will turn into a cabaret venue, with Kinselas’ famous Middle Bar serving up a selection of Johnnie Walker cocktails on their famous balcony. It’s the perfect pew to drink in the views overlooking Taylor Square and Oxford Street.
Top deck DJ at The Club
While lovers of beats will flock to the top floor where The Club will host an array of glittering international DJs. New staging design will put the DJ in the centre of the action for an all-inclusive dance party. Some of the biggest names in music are flying into Sydney for WorldPride. Including Papi Juice (NYC), Boris (Ger), Jennifer Loveless B2B Ayebatonye, MikeQ and Sveta.
