Sydneysiders have thoroughly embraced Vivid Sydney since it was established in 2009 and its popularity continues to grow with an incredible 1.7 million visitors in 2015. Vivid transforms Sydney into a wonderland of light with innovative light installations, grand scale projections on iconic buildings and urban spaces, music and ideas, and it is all free.
This year, the festival has been extended, lighting up the streets for 23 nights from 27 May to 18 June, with new precincts switched on, including Taronga Zoo which will feature giant luminous animal sculptures. Apart from Vivid Light, the festival also features Vivid Music with fantastic music events, and Vivid Ideas, with world-renowned speakers. Vivid turns Sydney into a massive outdoor gallery and is not to be missed.
