The team behind the Middle Eastern food chain SHUK is turning their Bondi pop-store into a permanent home.
Opening on Friday 4 December, the pop-up cafe and restaurant will relaunch as SHUK FALAFEL at its current location on Campbell Parade.
Catering to beachgoers, SHUK FALAFEL will offer feel-good Israeli-inspired cuisine in a friendly and lively street-food atmosphere.
Tourists and locals alike can enjoy breakfasts, lunch and dinner or stop by for coffee, pastries, sandwiches, sweets and sourdough. Bakery goods are delivered fresh to the venue every morning from their home base in Bondi.
Choose from a heaving pita wrap or packed-to-the-brim bowl made with your choice of falafel, sabich, schnitzel or cauliflower shawarma.
The SHUK FALAFEL hummus bowl served with pita, pickles and your choice of toppings is also popular on the menu. There are even some kid-friendly options.
As for drinks, you can’t go past their thirst-quenching mint lemonade – a drink found in every falafel pit-stop in Israel.
This is the fifth SHUK offering from owners Yoni Kalfus, Ariel Hefer & German Sánchez, with venues also in Chatswood & Elizabeth Bay.
Their combination of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine with modern favourites is quickly becoming a Sydney favourite and will no doubt become a new go-to for Bondi locals.
