Starwood's first luxury hotel in Tokyo opens

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened its first luxury hotel in the Japan capital of Tokyo.

Part of the Luxury Collection Hotel portfolio, The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho occupies the 30th to 36th floor of the Tokyo Garden Terrace located in the prestigious Kioicho neighborhood.

“The Prince  Gallery Tokyo Kioicho presents indigenous flavours and colourful offerings in Japan’s capital city and we are thrilled to open our first luxury hotel here in Tokyo, a market that attracts both business and leisure travellers from across the globe,” Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific senior vice president Lothar Pehl said.

Inspired by its dynamic surroundings and designed by Rockwell Group Europe, the 250-room hotel is a striking example of the finest contemporary aesthetic, and features 11 luxurious suites which offer the best of Japanese tradition and modern design.

There are four dining and bar options to choose from, including all day dining in the Oasis Garden, contemporary Japanese at Washouki Souten restaurant, and the Levita Sky Gallery Lounge, which serves tea, cocktails and snacks. A standout feature is the signature illumiid THE BAR, located on the 35th floor, affording fantastic views with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Located in close proximity to Tokyo’s cultural attractions such as the Shimizudani Park, Benkei Canal, and Tokyo Imperial Palace, The Prince Gallery’s Kioi Spa is the perfect retreat to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Operated Swiss Perfection and includes an indoor pool, hot bath, treatment room and fitness gym.

The Prince Hotel is also located adjacent to the Akasaka Prince Classic House. Formerly residence of the last crown prince of Korea, the Western Style 1930 building is now home to La Maison Koi bistro and Bar Napleon, and an elegant banquet hall, which can accommodate up to 140 guests.
