Paradise is calling where the Indian Ocean meets the wild and lush shorelines of Sri Lanka. Relais & Châteaux member, Resplendent Ceylon, has unveiled the luxurious Wild Coast Tented Lodge on the coastal fringe of Yala National Park, home to the island’s leopards and a ribbon of white-coated beachfront.
The luxury-tented camp’s unique design comprises 28 ’cocoon suite’ tents that melt into the shape and hues of the rocks and a layout that resembles the paw print of Sri Lanka’s elusive cats. The interiors fuse colonial expedition chic with contemporary design innovations: from freestanding handmade copper bathtubs to sumptuous four-poster beds.
Even more impressive are the beachfront suites, which offer private plunge pools, while a further 16 suites cluster around waterholes that attract a variety of local wildlife – a spectacle guests can view from the comfort of their private deck.
Adding to the experience are the incredible nature walks that take intrepid adventurers to the quietest corner of the national park and its conservation station.
