Spa InterContinental, Fiji
I’ll admit it, I’m an unabashed spa junkie, and while I have indulged in magnificent treatments around the world, I can truly say the Spa at the InterContinental Fiji is nothing short of phenomenal.
While tropical rain danced down upon the Coral Coast, I experienced three different spa treatments, including the complimentary pre-treatment Wai Zone, equipped with steam room, hydrotherapy Jacuzzi and uniquely freezing, but oddly invigorating, ice room. It was pure bliss.
After wandering down an enchanting open-air corridor filled with flowing water and lit with candles, I drifted into my treatment room on a wave of coconut and sweet dilo nut oil essence – knowing they already had me at bula. After a deep breathing exercise, I lay down and let go, welcoming each layer of indulgence of the 90-minute ‘Organic Therapy Nourishing Retreat’. It included a full body rosemary and jojoba sea salt exfoliation, a soothing warm papaya and mother of pearl wrap, and a delectable body butter massage (extra firm, as requested).
As if I hadn’t been spoiled enough, the next day I doubled down with an Indian head massage, where my scalp was divinely drizzled and massaged with warm coconut oil. I’m telling you, a girl could get used to this. Next time, I’ll have to give the ‘Warm Shell Massage’ a go – and yes, there will most definitely be a next time.
