The official program for Tasting Australia has been released, with more than 200 ways to get involved and celebrate the best of South Australian fare throughout the eight-day festival, kicking off 1 May.
With more than 50,000 people attending the last festival in 2014 and producers across the state embracing the opportunity to showcase their produce, Tasting Australia will become an annual event as of this year in response to popular demand.
Events including lunches, dinners and masterclasses will take place across Adelaide, Barossa, Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Limestone Coast, showcasing fresh, clean and safe produce expertly crafted into outstanding food and drinks.
Some of the highlights in this year’s festival line-up include:
In The Company Of – a series of events pairing special guests with local producers, chefs and venues for a unique, intimate meal and discussion.
Single Sites Dinner – a celebration of single vineyard wines, served by the seven award-winning South Australian winemakers alongside dishes prepared by leading South Australian chefs.
Origins Dinner – featuring more than 30 chefs and wine makers, this dinner extravaganza is the festival’s showcase event where you will be taken on a culinary adventure where chefs will cook their favourite dishes to serve you a dinner with no set menu and no limits – just the best of South Australian produce.
A Few of My Favourite Things – take one of the tours of South Australia’s best food and wine as chosen by local food icons including Maggie Beer AM and Masterchef’s Adam Liaw, Jessie Spiby and Callum Hann.
In addition to these highlights, there will be a program of Eat, Think and Share sessions hosted by guest chefs and panel discussions with industry experts, Adelaide’s Town Square will feature the Wood Oven where fresh bread and baked goods will be made daily, and seafood lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy and learn about South Australia’s seafood industry at Loaves and Fish.
