To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the House of Dior, Sofitel Melbourne on Collins will serve a series of couture cocktails created by Atrium Bar manager, Marc Dasan
The four signature cocktails each highlight a signature design by the House of Dior.
‘The Parfium’ is served in a glass perfume bottle with smoked fumed glass and embodies Christian Dior’s idea that a dress was not complete without a finishing touch of fragrance.
‘The 18th Century’ containing Kettle One vodka, is red and gold in colour, reflecting how this opulent era’s exaggerated silhouettes, architecture and art inspired Dior. The fairy floss garnish reflects Marie Antoinette’s famous ‘pouf’ hairstyle.
‘The Line’ contains spiced rum and reflects some of Dior’s defining shapes such as the Zig-Zag, Tulip, and Oblique, while the sharp lines of the martini glass combined with soft figs gives the cocktail its own silhouette.
And finally, ‘The Flower’ is infused with a frozen pink rose, representing how Dior used flowers as a motif to embellish fabrics with detailed patterns.
These limited-edition signature cocktails will be served at Sofitel’s Atrium Bar on Thursday to Saturday from 1 September until 4 November this year, to coincide with National Gallery of Victoria’s The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture exhibition.
