As part of Novotel Yangon Max’s Planet 21 sustainable environment program, the Soap for Hope initiative provides a unique way of recycling an everyday product. As you know, every time you enter a hotel bathroom you unwrap a new soap. Now imagine how much wasted soap there is at the end of the day. The Soap for Hope program aims to remedy the situation by reusing hotel soap and turning it into new soap. With the help of volunteers the soap is cleansed with non-toxic chemicals, rinsed and combined with additional ingredients, like rose petals, lime or coffee, and a new bar of soap is created. These new creations are then donated to the local community in need, including the children of Luke Orphanage.
