Enjoy a self-guided, inn-to-inn walk of Slovenia’s Karst region with On Foot Holidays, one of Europe’s leading self-guided walking tour operators.
The six-night walk begins in the pretty Slovenian capital of Ljubljana, passing through meadows, sleepy villages and vineyards, and finishes in the Italian seaport of Trieste.
Travellers have an option to combine footwork and pedal power on mountain bike rides to the World Heritage-listed Škocjan caves. Highlights of the tour include the hilltop settlements of Štanjel and Tabor, and a visit to Predjama Castle, a Renaissance fortress built within a cave and steeped in history and mythology.
The route can be walked from April through to August, and is easy-to-medium in difficulty, with three to five hours of walking each day.
