Award-winning Aussie chef Curtis Stone has officially opened his third restaurant at sea with Princess Cruises, launching SHARE by Curtis Stone onboard superliner Sun Princess in Sydney yesterday.
SHARE will now feature on two Princess Cruises’ ships sailing in local waters – Sun Princess which is based in Australia year-round, and Emerald Princess, arriving 15 November for its first Australian season.
Ruby Princess, which is currently sailing in the northern hemisphere, also features SHARE by Curtis Stone.
Featuring honest cooking and homely food, the restaurant’s dining philosophy centres around the experience of sharing food with friends and family in a communal environment designed for exploring new tastes while sharing memories and holiday experiences, and has been a huge hit with guests.
Excited to be sharing his cuisine and vision with Australian cruisers, chef Curtis Stone comments: “SHARE combines all the things that I’m most passionate about – being on the ocean looking over the water, escaping to visit new destinations, and sharing stories and good times over a delicious meal, and so much of my food ethos comes from my Australian upbringing so it means a lot to me that two of my SHARE restaurants are so close to home.”
As a very hands-n chef, Curtis has worked closely with his team to create and develop a menu unique to the ship, been heavily involved in sourcing produce from top quality Australian suppliers, and has extended his passion for SHARE into the restaurant design, decorated with items close to his heart such as family photos and heirloom recipes.
“I have a very specific vision of how I want my restaurants to look and feel as well as taste. With SHARE, I’ve shared personal family photographs for the walls and even selected the books on the shelves – they’re the same books you will find in my living room at home. It’s the personal touches that are really important to me.”
Sun Princess cruises include a 12-night South Pacific cruise sailing from Sydney on April 25, 2017, and an 11-night South Pacific cruise on Emerald Princess departing March 7, 2017.
