Boutique luxury resort The Sarojin in Thailand has launched two new bicycle adventures, offering guests a journey of discovery through the fascinating history, culture, community and landscape surrounding the resort in Khao Lak.
Guests can borrow one of The Sarojin’s mountain bikes, which are complimentary throughout their stay, and embark on one of two laid-back and leisurely cycle tours, or opt to do both, with a personal guide leading the way.
The ‘Rural Cycle Round Koh Koh Khao’ takes you on a picturesque journey towards Kho Kho Khao, an island characterised by its flat grassy sands, sprawling mangroves, and winding canals. Guests will travel to Kho Kho Khao by private car before climbing aboard a traditional long boat and cruising out to the spot where the bikes will be waiting.
Ideal for nature lovers and cycling enthusiasts, the tour travels along quiet roads, beautiful beaches, fields and villages, past water buffalo herds, farms and fishing boats, offering a unique glimpse into local island life.
Those who like a challenge can complete the 40-kilometre island loop while others may prefer to adopt the slow pace of life ethos and climb into a waiting luxury car to continue their journey.
Alternatively, the ‘Cultural Cycle Around Old Takaphua’ route takes in the historical capital of Phang Nga province, visiting many inspirational landmarks amongst the Chinese and Sino-Portugese architecture dotted throughout this quaint township.
There are local food stalls and shops to explore and exquisite sacred temples offering a quiet moment of reflection.
