Renowned for their luxury hotels and resorts, the Raffles brand has just announced the opening of their first Maldives location. The new 38-villa resort will open on 1 February 2019 on the stunning Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
Raffles Maldives Meradhoo will be offering Beach Villas, Beach Residences, and the Raffles Royal Residence – set to open in the second half of the year – all of which deliver distinct luxury features and exquisite views of the surrounding Indian Ocean. Further afield there is also a more private collection of Overwater Villas and Residences that are accessed by a traditional Maldivian Dhoni boat.


For guests left fascinated by the underwater world surrounding the resort, the hotel’s resident marine biologist is on hand to offer interesting facts and insights about the life that lurks below. Marine butlers are also available to personalise and curate fascinating underwater experiences for guests.

True to Raffles form, the new Maldives resort will feature three premium dining options: Thari, an all-day diner; Yuzu, a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese fare; and The Firepit, for those who fancy flame-grilled specialties under the stars. Drinks will be on offer at the sublime Yapa Sunset Bar and Long Bar.

Raffles Maldives Meradhoo is located at the southern end of the Maldives archipelago, near the equator on the Gaafu Alifu Atoll. The resort is accessible by domestic flight, 55 minutes from Male International Airport followed by 15-minute speedboat ride from Kaadedhdhoo Airport.
