Sydney residents will be allowed back into Queensland without quarantine from 1 December.
Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the easing of Queensland border restrictions on Tuesday morning following a meeting with health authorities.
This comes after New South Wales passed Queensland’s criteria of reaching 28 days with no new coronavirus diagnoses.
“Doctor Young is now satisfied that they (NSW) have reached over the 28 days, so can I say to NSW, we welcome you to Queensland from December 1,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
“I hope this is welcome news for Queensland families in time for Christmas.”

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she will make an announcement on Victoria tomorrow.
However at this stage it is looking hopeful as they are also very close to reaching 28-days without any new covid cases.
“If they reach 28 days tomorrow, then they will be open as well on December 1,” the premier said.
