Queen of the river
Take a step back in time to the days when steamboats plied the rivers of America. American Queen Steamboat Company offers cruises on the Lower and Upper Mississippi River, Ohio, Tennesse and Cumberland Rivers and the Columbia and Snake Rivers in the Pacific Northwest. With three vessels, American Duchess, American Empress and the flagship of the fleet – the American Queen, guests can discover the America that Mark Twain loved, in comfort.
American Empress is the largest riverboat west of the Mississippi and cruises the waters of the Columbia and Snake Rivers in the Pacific Northwest while American Duchess, which joined the fleet in 2017, is an all-suite boutique paddlewheeler cruising the Mississipppi and tributaries. As for the elegant 414-passenger American Queen, she is the largest and most opulent steamboat ever built.
The six-deck recreation of a classic Mississippi riverboat boasts modern conveniences with all the opulence of the American Victorian era. Relax with a book from the collection in the Mark Twain Gallery, the boat’s library, tap your toes along to the tunes of a lavish show in the two-deck-tall Grand Saloon, celebrate timeless southern traditions and river history, all while enjoying the acclaimed Southern cuisine.
American Queen offers seven-night journeys on the Mississippi from February to December 2019, cruising from New Orleans, Louisiana to Memphis, Tennessee.
