Qantas is offering frequent flyers a massive opportunity to boost their status credits and earn bonus Qantas points with just one flight.
The initial rush to book New Zealand flights has subsided since the Trans-Tasman travel bubble began on April 16.
Qantas has downgraded several scheduled flights from a large Airbus A330 to a smaller Boeing 737.
Now, in an effort to boost flagging New Zealand bookings, Qantas will offer frequent flyers double status credits and a bonus of 5000 Qantas points on any flight booked between May 10 and May 15, 2021.
How many Qantas status credits will you earn?
A standard one way Qantas flight from Australia’s east Coast to new Zealand normally nets 25 status credits in economy and 85 status credits in Business Class.
So Qantas frequent flyers could earn up to 340 status credits from one return flight across the ditch.
The 5000 Qantas points is a nice little bonus that you can stash away for a future flight.
How to claim your bonus
You can’t just book and expect a bonanza. Anyone who wants to claim the bonus must first register their intention on the Qantas website. You can follow the link here.
Frequent fliers will need to register by 11.59pm on 15 May.
Qantas will deliver the promised double status credits for all registered flights booked between 17 May 2021 and 28 February 2022.
It may take up to six weeks for Qantas to credit the bonus points to your account.
