Qantas auctions off lie-flat A380 business class seats

How much do you miss travel? Enough to bid on a pair of pre-loved Qantas A380 Business Skybeds?

With flights now grounded, Qantas has come up with an innovative way to get frequent flyers to use their points.

The coveted chairs will be one of several items up for auction on the Qantas website this week. Other items include a private charter flight, a 787 simulator experience, and a kids’ soccer coaching clinic with Graham Arnold.

The A380 business class seats go under the hammer on August 5 from 8am, with an opening bid of 350,000 points.

While the in-flight entertainment on the used business class seats does not work, the winning bidder can plug them into a power point and recline to their delight.

“Picture this… reclining on a Skybed in your media room, sipping champagne, watching the latest blockbuster or bingeable series,” Qantas said on the auction website.

If you win the auction, Qantas will deliver the skybed seats to any city in Australia. The winning member must place the highest bid by 9pm and have the points available in their account to accept the item.
