Beautiful countryside, great country towns and a holiday atmosphere like no other are all part of the 35th edition of the Great Vic Bike Ride. This year, an estimated 3200 riders will join the rolling festival, to be held from November 24 to December 2.
The Great Vic Bike Ride is described as a ‘fun, friendly and challenging holiday where you’ll join a community of bike riders exploring Victoria’s beautiful countryside’.
This year, the nine-day festival – regarded as one of the world’s best cycling festivals – will steer cycling holidaymakers toward the best of Victoria’s High Country and Murray River regions. The 2018 event starts in Bright, one of the most bike-friendly destinations in the foothills of the Alpine region.
While on the road, cyclists will spend two nights in historic Beechworth and two in Rutherglen. The 5239 km ride will finish in Benalla. The biggest multi-day bike ride in the Southern Hemisphere is also a camping holiday.
Meals, luggage transport and en-route assistance are provided, with the camp featuring a licensed cafe, bar and restaurant under canvas, full medical team, entertainment and bicycle maintenance facilities. greatvic.com.au
