Princess Cruises has announced Sea Princess will embark on a 106-day world cruise in 2019, hailed as the “Greatest Hits” voyage.
The spectacular itinerary has been curated based upon guest feedback collected from the last 12 years of world cruising and includes visits to 39 destinations across 32 countries.
Highlights include access to more than 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and maiden calls to Puntarenas in Costa Rica, Salaverry in Peru, and Portland in the UK, where guests can visit the famous Stonehenge site on a shore excursion.
In addition, the itinerary also features three overnight stays in Dubai, St Petersburg and New York, and guests will also be able to enjoy more immersive experiences thanks to 13 More Ashore calls in popular destinations such as Barcelona, London, Charleston, Lima, Papeete and Cobh in Ireland, where they can join in the World Cruise Australia Day celebrations.
“Princess Cruises’ 2019 World Cruise marks an astonishing twelfth year in World Cruise from Australia, and with the 2018 World Cruise already at capacity, its clear that Australians and New Zealanders are turning to cruise holidays more than ever to explore the globe,” Princess Cruises vice president Australia and New Zealand Stuart Allison says.
Set to sail from Sydney on 14 May 2019, this highly anticipated voyage will go on sale Thursday 9 November 2017, 9am EST. Passengers will also have the option to embark in Auckland on 10 May and Brisbane 16 May.
In related news, Princess Cruises has also unveiled its new Ocean Medallion technology, which will debut on Regal Princess on 13 November 2017 in a phased rollout.
Set to revolutionise and enhance the guest cruise experience, the technology comes in the form of a physical 20 cent coin-sized medallion, which can be worn, and will act as a “personal concierge”.
Designed to provide guests with a more personalised and immersive experience, the medallion collects and contains your information which leads to a number of benefits such as a more streamlined boarding process, enhanced service with crew recognising your preferences, and activities and excursions specific to you and your family.
In addition, you can access the compass feature through your phone and use it to make reservations, shop from anywhere onboard and have it delivered to you, find and message your family members on the ship, keyless entry, high-speed internet, receive port and destination information, store and share photos, and much more.
