At the historic Polynesian Spa in Rotorua, it’s all about relaxing in the natural hot mineral bathing pools.
Located on the banks of Lake Rotorua in New Zealand’s North Island, Polynesian Spa’s geothermal mineral waters are sourced from two natural springs; Priest Spring’s slightly acidic waters relieve aches and pains, while Rachel Spring’s alkaline waters nourish the skin. These feed into 28 mineral pools which range in temperature from 33°C to 46°C.
There are eight adults-only pools, a family pool with kid-friendly facilities, private pools for exclusive use, and the Deluxe Lake Spa area. Overlooking the lake and surrounded by native flora, natural rocks, two waterfalls and a grotto, this area features five mineral hot pools, a cold plunge pool for detoxifying hydrotherapy, geothermal recliners, indoor relaxation lounge and premium changing facilities.
