After a few days of sightseeing around Taipei, I am in desperate need of some pampering. Luckily, I am staying at the Grand Hyatt Taipei, home to Oasis Spa located on the fifth floor.
The recently re-modelled spa features separate men’s and women’s thermal heated baths, sauna and steam rooms, and relaxation lounges. I arrive early and take a shower before slipping into the whirlpool heated bath, relaxing into the swirling water around me and looking out to onto a tranquil Taiwanese rock garden.
I head to the change rooms where my masseuse greets me and takes me to one of the luxe treatment rooms on the sixth floor. I am after a gentle massage so I opt for the Aromatherapy Massage, using the Oasis Signature ‘Renew’ body oil, with a hint of orange.
The treatment begins with a relaxing tea and foot cleanse. I explain my shoulder and back are sore from travelling, so my masseuse pays extra attention to these areas. She works her magic hands over my back, legs, arms and head massage, and before you know it the hour is up. Another soothing tea sends me off to start the day anew and discover more of Taipei’s treasures.
