Oaks Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to make its debut in Wellington on New Zealand’s North Island with the launch of Oaks Wellington in 2019.
Ideally located on Courtenay Place in Wellington’s thriving CBD, the nine-storey tower will feature Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ smart simplicity and spacious apartment accommodation in a vibrant new destination, which is renowned as New Zealand’s creative, culinary and cultural capital.
Currently in progress, an extensive multi-million facelift will transform the former Colonial Motor Company Building site – originally constructed in 1923 – into a contemporary 4.5-star hotel.
Oaks Wellington will comprise 226 sleek Hotel Rooms and One Bedroom Apartments, suitable for both business and leisure travellers in search of a contemporary and comfortable base within easy reach of Wellington’s most popular attractions.

Offering the convenience of Oaks’ signature self-contained facilities, One Bedroom Apartments will be equipped with modern kitchenettes, while all rooms will feature high-tech amenities, including Smart TVs, keyless entry and high-speed Wi-Fi. A selection of guest rooms will overlook the sparkling bay, while others will provide a stellar vantage point over the bustling city beyond.
A self-service check-in kiosk will allow allow guests to check in at the touch of a button, and for those who prefer a more personalised experience, staff will be on hand to assist.
On the first floor, the hotel will feature restaurant and bar and thoughtful guest facilities including a well-equipped gymnasium, ground floor communal lounge, conferencing venues and underground parking.
