Nine Perfect Strangers is the new show everyone is talking about and it’s easy to see why.
The show features an A-list cast that includes Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy and Asher Keddie. And it’s got a plot that will hook you right in.
The Hulu Original is adapted from Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name. It tells the story of a gang of strangers lured to an eco-retreat in the hopes of ‘getting well’.
Not everything is as it seems as the controlling Masha (played by Kidman) leads the most bizarre self-help programme.
Nine Perfect Strangers is set at the exclusive (and fictional) ‘Tranquillium House in California. Big Sur, California was the original film location.
But due to Covid, production packed up and flew to Byron Bay, Australia – specifically Soma retreat in Ewingsdale.
The property features a gorgeous infinity pool, 22-acres of sweeping hinterland views and its very own yoga dome.

Of course it runs its own wellness retreats (minus the mad Masha) which you can book in yourself.
Soma retreat boasts 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and can accommodate eight cars.

Visitors and holidaymakers can rent the property for approximately $8,580 per night, which is separate from the retreat.

Soma retreat describes itself as a “contemporary oasis purpose-built to serve as a sanctuary for retreats and immersive experiences with a goal to elevate creativity and consciousness.”
The ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ filming location was perfect for the eery zen aesthetic with plenty of timber, stone, geometric glass and contemporary finishes.
You can watch ‘Nine Perfect Strangers on Amazon Prime Video in Australia.
