Newly renovated Norwegian Jewel arrives in Sydney

After two weeks on the dry dock for extensive renovations, the Norwegian Jewel will arrive in Sydney on December 1. The refurbished Jewel will be cruising from Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore for the 2018 summer and 2019 Autumn seasons, before heading to Alaska for the North American Summer. There are 7-day to 19-day itineraries on offer.

Entertainment

The Norwegian Jewel feature two new shows – “Rock You Tonight” and “Velvet” allowing guests to see high-quality entertainment alongside the high-quality views. ‘Rock You Tonight” is an odyssey of the best music from the 70s whilst “Velvet” combines circus acrobatics, cabaret and burlesque with disco classics. Guests cruising between November 5 and January 30 will see Brenda Edwards from “The X Factor UK”. Additionally, from January 30 to March 16 Frenchie Davis from “American Idol” will be onstage.

Dining

Two new dining venues are open on board too. The Pit Stop (above) is a 50s style all-American bar with classic car-themed elements melding with the diner décor. The Bliss Ultra Lounge (below) offers modern late-night entertainment with dance music bringing the venue to life once the sun sets. For 13-17 year-olds, the Entourage area offers activities, challenges and games to keep the kids engaged.

Accommodation

Aboard the Norwegian Jewel, you’ll find 1,188 staterooms, all with new carpet, artwork and furniture, USB outlets and televisions. The Atrium (below) at the heart of the Jewel has also been entirely refreshed. Centred around the custom chandelier the Atrium features, banquette seating, shore excursion desk areas and a refurbished reception.
