Luxury hotel group Aman has announced their exciting new camp experience nestled in the deep canyons and vermillion rock formations of Utah desert.
Opening in April 2020, Camp Sarika, will be an extension to the popular Amangiri luxury resort in Canyon Point and will feature ten beautifully designed tent-pavilions on a luxury encampment surrounded by 600 hectares of desert wilderness.
Providing guests with the ultimate comfort and privacy, each tent has its own heated plunge pool as well as a bar, living area, dining area, one or two bedrooms and a spacious terrace with a fire pit.
Designed by Luxury Frontiers, they are intended to mimic the spaciousness and clean lines of the suites at Amangiri, while evoking a distinct luxury camp feel with canvas walls and ceilings and wooden fittings. The five one-bedroom tented-pavilions will cover 175 square metres, while the five two-bedroom tented pavilions will cover 262 square metres.
As for the scenery, Camp Sarika – named after the Sanskrit word for ‘open space’ and ‘sky’ – overlooks Utah’s iconic flat-topped mesa rock formations and is surrounded by five national parks, each offering unique and diverse landscapes.
On the main site, is a Selldorf Architects-designed common pavilion and restaurant, along with lounge areas, two spa suites, a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi set in unparalleled proximity to nature. And being just a 30-minute hike or five-minute drive from Amangiri, guests will also have full access to the resort’s facilities whenever they desire.
From food being served on cedar and slate carving boards to alfresco style yoga and meditation; everything about Camp Sarika will encourage guests to connect to their surrounding environment.
With its prime position, the camp will offer desert and mountain hiking with its own trail system, canyoneering, its own Via Ferrata route and horseback riding, as well as many other adventure activities. Guests will also have the chance to immerse in the history of Native American culture, with storytelling and stargazing around the fire every evening.
