MSC Splendida's Japanese cherry blossom cruise

MSC Cruises has announced a special cruise onboard the MSC Splendida for Japan’s spectacular cherry blossom season, in May next year.

Departing 6 May 2018, the nine-night round-trip from Yokohama, will take in some of the islands’ most beautiful historic and contemporary sights as well as plenty of cherry blossom viewing along the way.

The itinerary will include a circumnavigation of the main island of Honshu, calling at Fushiki-Toyama, Kanazawa and Maizuru, before spending half a day at Busan in South Korea and visiting Kagoshima on Kyushu Island and Kochi on Shikoku Island.

Guests will get a fascinating insight into the Japanese way of life, from high-rise cities to beautiful gardens, traditional ceremonies and crafts, ancient temples and castles, and many natural wonders including hot springs, forests, rivers and a famously active volcano that overlooks the seaside city of Kagoshima.

The stylish and modern MSC Splendida is one of five ships MSC Cruises’ fleet to feature the MSC Yacht Club, a luxurious ship-within-a-ship that has 71 spacious suites, its own Concierge Reception, a 24-hour butler service, plus a private lounge, pool deck and bar.

The ship also features four swimming pools, a jogging track, squash court, state-of-the-art gym, dozens of bars and restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, plenty of entertainment and Aurea Spa, which offers an extensive menu of treatments alongside thalassotherapy, steam bath, solarium and whirlpool.
