Leading European cruise line, MSC Cruises, has announced ahead of schedule that it will build an additional two ships in the Meraviglia Class, joining the all new MSC Meraviglia which is due to launch in 2017.
Due for delivery respectively in October 2019 and September 2020, the two new Meraviglia-Plus class next-generation ships will feature increased tonnage and overall size, together offering 2,444 cabins and catering to a maximum capacity of 6,300 guests.
Speaking at the coin ceremony for MSC Meraviglia in France, MSC Cruises Executive Chairman, Pierfrancesco Vago, said: “The two Meraviglia-Plus vessels will be even larger and longer as well as richer in features and amenities, thus confirming MSC Cruises as the industry’s boldest innovator when it comes to ship design and experiences we create for our guests.”
Featuring elegant, cutting-edge design and exceptional features, the Meraviglia-Plus ships will be able to call at a wide range of cruise ports around the world, offering guests an increased selection of itineraries and destinations to choose from.
Unique public spaces will offer an array of boutiques, restaurants and tranquil spots for relaxing and socialising, while the first and only classic and contemporary fine art museum at sea will showcase a stunning collection of treasures from Italian museums.
