Modernism Week’s 2016 Fall Preview will will take place from October 21-23, 2016 at various locations in the Coachella Valley, Palm Springs.
The preview event will feature a selection of highlights of the best events from the upcoming Modernism Week 2017, which will run from 16 – 26 February 2017.
The weekend’s events will provide attendees with a sampling of the events and activities that will be offered during the annual Modernism Week festival, including architectural walking and bike tours, festive cocktail parties, home tours, stimulating lectures, not-to-be-missed Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tours, classic cars, the Modernism Show & Sale, tours of Sunnylands Center, and much more.
Modernism Week’s cool, iconic, modern February festival is an exciting 11-day celebration of mid-century modern design, architecture, art, fashion and culture.
Events include the Modernism Show & Sale, tours of iconic homes, architectural walking, biking and double-decker bus tours, a world-class lecture & film series, tours of the historic Annenberg Estate at Sunnylands, a Palm Springs Walk of Stars dedication for architect Richard Harrison, vintage fashion, classic cars, garden tours, a vintage travel trailer exhibition, and Modern Giants – a celebration of the area’s largest collection of midcentury modern commercial buildings at Eisenhower Medical Center.
Events are added frequently and there are always events accessible up to and during the festival.
The mission of Modernism Week is to celebrate and foster appreciation of midcentury architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking in these fields, by encouraging education, preservation and sustainable modern living as represented in Palm Springs.
