Maya Wiru: An exclusive fine dining experience at Ayers Rock Resort

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia is launching an exclusive fine dining experience, Mayu Wiru, at Ayers Rock Resort on 22 October 2017.

Maya Wiru, meaning ‘beautiful flavour’ in local Pitjantjatjara, is a premium nightly experience for no more than 16 guests that combines the epitome of fine dining with a Field of Light experience.

“We have been overwhelmed by demand for premium experiences, and we are delighted to introduce the new Mayu Wiru concept,” Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia executive general manager of sales Ray Stone says.

“This very special evening will combine an exceptional gourmet menu celebrating the ancient flavours of Indigenous Australia with the most exclusive way to experience Field of Light Uluru.”

The evening begins with champagne and bush tucker-inspired canapés at a private lookout on the grounds of Sails in the Desert Hotel.

A delicious three-course table d’hôte Indigenous-inspired menu follows this with perfectly matched wines in the hotel’s private dining room.

After dinner, guests are taken to a dune top for a nightcap while enjoying stunning panoramic views of the Field of Light Uluru and a star walk on the southern night sky.

This unique evening concludes with a private 30-minute guided walk through the magical art exhibition.

Mayu Wiru will run daily from 22 October to 24 March, during the hiatus of Tali Wiru.
