Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will manage a new resort that is currently under development in Viña del Mar, Chile.

The oceanfront Mandarin Oriental, Viña del Mar is scheduled to open in 2020, and will be a natural partner to Hotel Santiago, which will rebrand as Mandarin Oriental, Santiago later in 2018.

“This resort will provide a complementary experience for guests at our Santiago hotel, and we look forward to further extending our brand into South America and introducing Mandarin Oriental’s renowned standards of luxury to Viña del Mar,” Mandarin Oriental group chief executive James Riley says.

In addition to 195 guestrooms and suites, facilities at the hotel will include an all-day dining venue and bar, as well as flexible meeting facilities, perfect for social and business events.

Additionally, there will be a stylish Spa at Mandarin Oriental, a fitness centre, a large indoor swimming pool and a children’s swimming pool.

Viña del Mar is located on Chile’s Pacific Coast within the Valparaiso region, renowned for its rich history, beautiful parks and beaches, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
