Vietnam Airlines has teamed up with bestselling author, TV host and renowned chef, Luke Nguyen to reinvigorate its in-flight menu and promote Vietnamese cuisine and culture to the world.
During the three-year contract, Luke, who has been appointed a Global Cuisine Ambassador for Vietnam Airlines, will develop eight of his own culinary creations for Business Class menus on all flights departing Australia to Vietnam.
The celebrity chef famous for elevating Vietnamese cuisine to another level will also provide an input into the current offering of fifty dishes served globally.
“Menu planning sky high is very complex – we lose about 15 to 20 per cent of our taste at 50,000 feet and finding a food offering that has authentic Vietnamese flavours to suit different passengers isn’t easy,” Luke says.
“But, I look forward to the challenge!”

In 2017, the national flag carrier of Vietnam was awarded ‘Airline of the Year ‘by CAPA, as well as ‘The World’s Leading Cultural Airline 2017’ and ‘The World’s Leading Airline – Economy Class 2017’ by World Travel Awards.
