Award-winning chef, restaurateur and author Shane Delia will join Lizard Island’s Executive Chef Mark Jensen at the resort’s second Food and Wine Event, to be held in September.
Delia is best known as Chef and owner of Maha Restaurant in Melbourne, and presenter of Channel 9’s Postcards, and his own TV show Spice Journey on SBS which highlights his passion, knowledge and skills in creating the perfect balance of spices inspired by the Middle East, has become a global success.
“The opportunity to keep my spice journey evolving on Lizard Island will be exciting and I look forward to working with Mark Jensen and the local produce of the region to bring some truly amazing flavours to life during the Master Class and dinner events”, says Delia.

Meanwhile, Mark Jensen’s passion for the spices of South East Asia influences his daily menus and will be showcased to a new level during the Food and Wine Event.
Spread over three indulgent days, the program will include a range of masterclasses, luncheons, dinners and wine-matched degustations, and will also be joined by Penfolds wines and Yarra Valley producer Levatine Hill Estate.
While food and wine is at the heart of the program, guests are able to tailor their experiences, and some of the highlights include Penfolds Wine Master Class, Island Spice Dinner by Mark Jensen with matching Penfolds wines, Spice Journey by Shane Delia with matching Levantine Hill Estate wines, evening drinks on a sunset cruise, and a six-course degustation dinner by Jensen and Delia.
Guests will also receive a signed copy Delia’s most recent book, Spice Journey, based on his hit television show, and a selection of Maha spices.
