Just 90-minutes from the Sydney CBD, Lake Macquarie’s Living Smart Festival will light up the southern hemisphere’s largest saltwater lake from 23 to 25 September.
One of Australia’s biggest sustainable-themed events is back and better than ever, packed with festivities to motivate you to live smarter, healthier and cleaner. Following a two-year hiatus, the weekend will feature three distinct events over three days.

Green Thumb is the perfect place to exercise your gardening prowess with backyard beekeeping, worm farming and urban gardening. Or don an apron and get to Eat Zone for fermentation classes and sourdough sessions. Crafty sorts will love the Upcycle Zone to discover nifty ways to turn trash into treasure.
While families are also catered too. With a Kids’ Zone filled with arts and crafts, face painting, and even a petting zoo.
Live it up
Come Sunday, Living Together Festival will celebrate Australia’s multicultural communities with workshops and demonstrations, vibrant world music and international cooking classes.
