Where is The Langham Gold Coast?
Positioned at the absolute beachfront at the southern end of Surfers Paradise and within easy reach of Gold Coast airport, and a short drive from Brisbane International and Lismore Airports.

Within a short walk you can find
Broadbeach and the newly constructed Gold Coast Oceanway pathway that hugs the coastline from the Point Danger Lighthouse on the New South Wales and Queensland border to the Gold Coast Seaway.
Langham Gold Coast’s claim to fame
From the minute of arrival, I’m swept into its glittering charms. It’s the latest resort to bring extra glitz to the Gold Coast as the first new beachfront luxury hotel to open in Australia’s holiday capital in over 30 years. Be it for couples – or, in my case, an inter-gen girls’ getaway – it doesn’t disappoint.

The showstopper
The Langham Gold Coast and Jewel Residences is a heady mix of sophisticated style that meets coastal charm within its 169 hotel rooms – and 170 residences – across three skyscraping towers. Executive Ocean Suites offer a stunning panorama of the Pacific Ocean with Jewel Residences boasting apartments – from one to four bedrooms – on the upper floors with the ultimate Ocean Penthouse, a grand, four-bedroom affair with 180-degree views of both the Hinterland and the Pacific and an elegant dining room with a top-of-the-line Gaggenau fitted kitchen, ripe for a private dinner.

Two Bedroom Skyline Ocean Residence at The Langham Gold Coast
My Two Bedroom Skyline Ocean Residence on the 48th floor of Jewel Residences boasted incredible views across three palatial balconies to soak in the sea vista, with the bedroom side showing off the natural charms of the Hinterland and the Nerang River.
Bedrooms feature cloud-like Langham Blissful Bed, three bathrooms are fragranced by Diptyque toiletries, and separate living spaces include a full kitchen and separate laundry, are dressed in a palette of white, light grey, and touches of blue with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that optimise the million-dollar views.
Meanwhile a Deluxe Skyline Ocean View Room (featured below), located on floors 15 – 20 of the main building, boasts glittering views of the coastline, and is dressed with all the interior trappings of Jewel Residences, just over a smaller footprint. Its spectacular oval-shaped bathtub is part of its sleek marble bathroom, and most certainly a room highlight.

Beyond the rooms
Should you venture beyond your room, there are six dining options, including the refined yet casual plates at Akoya and fine-dining Cantonese cuisine at T’ang Court, the new sister restaurant to the Hong Kong eatery that boasts 3 Michelin stars. The Lobby Bar, with its high ceilings and relaxed wood-toned interiors inspired by the nearby Hinterland, is open all day long. The Langham’s signature Chuan Spa, an indoor magnesium pool, a state-of-the-art gym, plus an outdoor lagoon-style resort pool with sprawling lounge suites is the perfect place to cool off with a handy swim-up pool bar for even more refreshment.

Restaurants at The Langham Gold Coast
The main attraction of The Langham’s elegant and casual all-day venue, Akoya, is its sumptuous seafood buffet laden with lobster halves, scampi, and other fresh seafood. Suffice it to say it was the best seafood buffet I’ve ever encountered. Generous with table time, you can enjoy the plentiful plates at your leisure. Akoya also hosts a breakfast buffet, or head to café 26 & Sunny on the beachfront for a more casual coffee and bagel-style deli bites.

Spa life
The Langham’s signature Chuan Spa has treatments inspired by principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the five elemental forces of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Each treatment is tailored to you, in my case, a Harmony Massage that starts with a breathing exercise and chanting, followed by acupressure with your elemental essential oil, and finishing with a bespoke tea in the Zen lounge.
Nights in at the Langham Gold Coast
For refined eating, T’ang Court sits on the upper floors of The Langham, a Cantonese fine-dining restaurant that has Michelin-starred sister restaurants in Asia. This new Gold Coast outpost recently received an Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat – within four months of opening – and I swiftly discovered why. A 14-day, dry-aged duck served three ways (a pancake with hoisin, bun with lychee, and leg with plum sauce) was carved at the table, with pillowy salt and pepper tofu and steamed toothfish with house-made soya sauce both lovely accompaniments.
Stepping out
On the cusp of Broadwater, beyond the Langham Gold Coast is the famous Sea World, the glitz of Palazzo Versace, South Stradbroke, and Wavebreak Islands. Burleigh Heads, Tallebudgera Valley, and the beauty of the Gold Coast Hinterlands are right on your doorstep.
The family factor
Langham Kids’ Club is a purpose-built funhouse for the little ones with a reading nook, a transparent indoor slide, and a soft-bounce floor. There are also activities for teens and babysitting services available. Read our review on Holiday with Kids here.

Before booking
Check out the Langham Gold Coast offers for special room rates and package deals like Linger Longer of a stay of three or more nights to enjoy up to 20% off rates. The 1985 Privilege by Langham membership offers exclusive benefits that include express check-in and late check-out.
Insiders’ tips
The stunning Palm Court serves The Langham Afternoon Tea every afternoon is worth making time for. Tiered china trays of delectable pastries created by the in-house pastry chefs are the perfect bite-sized beauties alongside a glass of Taittinger champagne as you drink in the lagoon pool views.

V&T expert rating
