Land of Fjords

The fjords of Western Norway are almost too beautiful for words, with ancient, jagged peaks rising out of deep blue waterways. Hjørundfjord is stunning and is the perfect base from which to explore nearby peaks, including Slogen, Skårasalen and Kolåstind. Slogen has been wowing explorers for centuries, with the historic Sagafjord Hotel tucked at its base by the side of the Norangsfjord. Most Norwegians have climbed Slogen – including Queen Sonja of Norway, with early explorers exclaiming it had one of the most beautiful views in Europe. These areas are attractive to adventurers seeking panoramic hikes, thrilling climbs, fishing and cycling, while the less adventurous can kayak, horse ride, ski or cruise.
