With an explorer heritage dating back to 1893, Hurtigruten offers a range of tours that showcase not only the Norwegian coast where the company grew and thrived, but way beyond to some of the most remote corners of the world. With a diverse fleet of 15 expedition ships, guests can explore far and wide, from the waters of Norway to Greenland, Finland with its Northern Lights, Alaska, Antarctica and the Arctic to South America, Europe, the Caribbean and North America.
Hurtigruten is a world leader in sustainable explorer travels in Polar regions leaving the smallest environmental footprint possible, and, in 2019, will launch the MS Roald Amundsen, the first of two hybrid ships that will cut emissions by sailing with electrical propulsion.
MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen are the world’s first hybrid expedition ships and will set sail for Antarctica in 2019. The hybrid ships will offer passengers adventures that are quieter, smoother, safer and greener than ever before. MS Roald Amundsen and MS Fridtjof Nansen are specially designed class 6A ice-strengthened, world-class expedition ships allowing passengers to explore polar waters and reach exciting new destinations in unparalleled comfort.
The ships include exclusively designed outside cabins, three restaurants, a gym, pool, and hot tub, which means they are fully equipped and ready for action as an advanced and complete floating basecamp at sea. Eco-conscious cruisers will appreciate that they can glide quietly through deep fjords and past spectacular landscapes with zero emissions and a clear conscience.
In order to help protect the pristine waters it explores, Hurtigruten has also become the world’s first plastic-free shipping company. The company imposed the ban on all unnecessary single-use plastic in July, with everything from straws to drinking glasses and plastic bags removed from all Hurtigruten ships. Hurtigruten offers coastal voyages to Norway, plus Explorer voyages to Greenland, Iceland, Spitsbergen and more.
Bentours has been operating for four decades and specialises in fully independent holidays and organised group tours – primarily in the regions of Scandinavia, Nordics, Baltics & Russia. Bentours is inviting passengers to explore Norway on the ‘world’s most beautiful sea voyage’ with Hurtigruten’s 11/12 day classic round voyage or the north-south six/seven-day cruise.
