InterContinental Sydney’s signature restaurant 117 dining has been named Best Luxury Hotel Restaurant 2016, winning the accolade at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards.
Beating 42 other world hotels in the nominated category across the globe, 117 dining took out the title which recognises it as the industry leader among the world’s best restaurants, securing the majority of guests, peer and industry votes.
Meeting a strict selection criteria in order to participate, restaurants in the nominated category must meet high interior design standards, haute cuisine quality food and and excellent service reviews.
Speaking of the accolade, InterContinental Sydney general manager Jörg Böckeler said: “This is a tremendous achievement – one we are both humbled and extremely proud to receive, and while there is often a sharp perception gap in the excellence of Australian hotel food and wine offering, this award is a true reflection of the talent, innovation and cultural sophistication that we are delighted to showcase to the world.”
Featuring an a la carte menu, as well as four- and eight-course degustation menus, 117 dining focuses on bringing the best from the land and sea to the plate, with a dining experience inspired by Sydney’s cultural heritage, local produce, and Asian influence.
This is the first time InterContinental Hotels Group has received the award in the region, with 117 dining the first hotel restaurant to receive the globally recognised accolade.
