InterContinental Sydney and Opera Australia have partnered up for Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, an annual highlight on Sydney’s social calendar, to offer guests a range of exclusive access and experiences.
Named Official Accommodation Partner 2017, and Supporting Partner of Opera Australia 20017, InterContinental Sydney has created the ultimate ‘Insider Experience’ package for Gale Edward’s acclaimed production of Bizet’s Carmen, from 24 March to 23 April 2017.
Offering guests the unique opportunity to experience a new level of cultural immersion, the package includes two A Reserve tickets for the performance, luxury overnight accommodation including a deluxe breakfast for two, a pre-performance backstage tour followed by a cheese board and Mumm Champagne inside The Cortile at InterContinental Sydney, access to the Platinum Club lounge for interval drinks, a limited edition signed souvenir program, and an exclusive in-room Carmen-inspired cocktail kit.
From 23 March until 30 April, the hotel’s lobby will feature a Carmen costume pop-up gallery where guests and visitors can enjoy two costume displays from designer Julie Lynch as well as production images from the set design by Brian Thompson, and storyboards.
“It is a privilege to partner with Opera Australia. We have an incredibly strong focus on immersive cultural experiences at InterContinental Sydney and it is through collaborations with like-minded partners where we can create highly-personalised and memorable experiences for guests, together,” Mulpha Hotels Australia general manager and area general manager Jörg T. Böckeler says.
