Renowned operator of global premium escorted journeys for more than 40 years, Insight Vacations has recently launched its new 2020 Europe and Britain collection and has announced a new concept, Insight Experiences.
The company, focused on ‘The Art of Travelling in Style’, now features more than 100 itineraries on its Europe and Britain tours, including five new trips.
Also new for 2020 is Insight Choice, where guests can choose their own adventures and experiences that reflect their varied interests from art, fashion, food, local traditions and nature excursions.
Meanwhile, the new Insight Experiences will include activities such as a visit to the Cristina Heeren Foundation in Seville, a private flamenco school and beneficiary of a TreadRight Foundation grant which provides scholarships to deserving students.
Due to demand, the tour operator’s Ancient Civilisations collection is back, featuring 18 trips to nine countries in the Eastern Mediterranean, North Africa and the India subcontinent. The company has also grown its collection of experiences in Turkey.
At a recent launch event hosted at the Sydney Opera House, Ulla Hefel Böhler, Insight Vacations & Luxury Gold Global CEO, spoke of the company’s commitment to responsible tourism, being one of the founding members of the Treadright Foundation formed 12 years ago.
The company recently introduced an e-document incentive, pledging to plant trees for every customer who chose e-documents rather than paper ones.
“Globally, we have seen a 74% adoption rate of this initiative. I’m pleased to say we have been able to plant 48 acres (19.4 hectares) of trees in 2019 alone.”
The company’s “elevator pitch” as Böhler referred to it is,
“All of the sights and insights, up close and personal, in comfort and style.”
At the Sydney breakfast launch at the Sydney Opera House, the company invited two-time Insight tour guests Lyn Delaney and her husband Kim. Lyn, who Instagrams at @skinnylynny spoke to the crowd about her experiences on tour with Insight Vacations, having been the first group tour they had travelled with. Her images were printed on our placemats, and interestingly, as the CEO revealed, 50 per cent of the images featured throughout their catalogues are brochures were taken by actual guests.
For the first time, the company is now offering a Luxury Gold tour in Colombia – a trending destination as Böhler revealed, with its 10-day ‘Art, Culture and Cuisine of Colombia’ tour.
Australian managing director Alex O’Connor spoke of the flexibility for guests with such options as the ‘Dine-Around’ evenings for more intimate smaller groups of friends; as well as the option to advise the Travel Directors of personal preference pre-tour, via theMyInsight online holiday hub.
